It depends on what you do with it. If you have enough unique content to support it being a separate site then fine. If not, then you should just get the name (so someone else doesn't) and set up a 301 Permenant Redirect to your main site.

Like I said before, it depends on whether or not you use it as a separate site. Just buying the name will
not give it great search engine rankings.
