Default XP experience

yesterday I had another computer installed. the office here is empty the computer came with XP installed. . They told me It was easy to use and that I should get out of the dark ages. . So I got XP (my own computer uses Windows 95. I like it.)

But PEEVED and PEEVED OFF with the Flaming thing already. it is "Asleep"

I have turned it on/off - pressed every key, pressed most combination of keys, and I am unable to wake it up!

I never was, never will be 'Intuative' when it comes to computers. . But I think there should be something written on the screen of a new computer that says "ON" (and means it) I never asked the flaming thing to go to sleep! It has work to do. . Nobody due to arrive in this office untill 6pm this evening - Its 9.30 am..

Yep, I know I have missed something that even a ten year old can see. . But I can do more damage than a child - when I am Peeved.

watching keenly for the first response.
