ice,

You may be right, but that wasn't the question.

Correct me if I'm wrong - it does happen sometimes, but rarely - the objective of a blog is cover as many topics related to your business as possible. A good blog will create a single page for one post while keeping the post on the main page as long as possible. This gives you the opportunity to target a phrase in your 200 or so word post.

Therefore, my question is valid and the answer would indicate topics he could write articles about and have pointed to his blog or business site. If people are looking for it then use it to your advantage.

Just because you think one search is important doesn't mean you're always correct. Learn to use human behavior to make your business stronger.

The average blogger has become a "wantabe". They want to be a write but they focus upon short editorials. Then they forget to watch the stats and see what people are looking for. If you're using a blog system that doesn't show you the stats and keywords used to find your blog get another system.
