Isn't it funny how that works? Until it hits you it's hard to put your finger on something sometimes. One option I can think of is to take a few of your really great product pictures and make them into a collage of sorts. Then, list the product categories in a couple columns in the space they're in now.
OR - Maybe you could take change Featured Items in the blue bar to 'Butterfly & Nature Gifts - Product Categories'. Perhaps make the font one size larger for the category names.
Just some ideas to play with if you think they might work.
