I think a fair question would also be, why are so many people upset with dmoz.

It might make a good poll. Or perhaps it should be dmoz powers-that-be asking themselves, so that good editors don't feel the need to go solo in defending the rest, like swatting at flies with a frying pan. Just a suggestion.
