If you can afford $99 a year I would strongly recommend joining NAPP, The National Association of Photoshop Professionals. You get a
years subscription to Photoshop User magazine (which is almost the price of the membership right there). I can't begin to tell you how much I've learned from their magazine and their website has a ton of tutorials and downloads. You also get discounts on software (like the upgrade to Photoshop CS) as well as seminars around the country. I actually got $99 off the price of the recent Mac Design Conference in Chicago, so basically that paid for my subscription right there.
